All Science West classrooms and faculty offices are fully operational. IT continues to address small clean up tasks in the Science West building from the summer interim renovation work.
The interim project will offically close out the end of September 2011.

Conversion of the old science labs to general purpose classrooms continues. Smart Instructor Workstations are being re-located from the Science East building into converted classrooms in Science West. Math faculty moved from offices in Science East to office in Science West durin the first week of August 2011. IT anticipates having all of the classrooms in Science West ready for the first week of fall 2011 classes.

All the science occupants of Science West were moved into the new Science Center during June of 2011. Vacated faculty offices were cleaned and re-painted. General science labs began the process of being converted to general purpose classrooms. Developmental Math Labs have been added to the second floor of the Science East Building

R - Science West 6/8/11

Chemistry labs in Science West closed for classes on May 30, 2011.

Demolition of Science West Chemistry labs began June 2, 2011. It removed the last of the classroom/lab PC's for storage prior to being re-used after the classroom conversions. Renovations are scheduled to be complete on/or about July 30, 2011. Clients and classrooms are to be re-occupied during August 2011. Classes begin late August 2011.

This blog will shortly be renamed to reflect the interim summer 2010 renovation work in Science West. A new blog will be created to reflect the later whole building renovation project scheduled for 2013 - 2015.

Drawings for changing science labs into general purpose classroms have been completed. Cabling contractors have generated quotes for the interim work. Network infrastructure has been ordered. Facilities is working on "From/To" lists for persons moving into vactated spaces in Science West. Summer renovation of classrooms is to start on or about June 1 2011 and be completed by July 30, 2011.

Walk through Science West with contractors to prepare quotes for phase 2 network cabling in the re-worked classrooms. Quotes due early April 2011. Math department is preparing the first version of the "From/To" list for Math faculty moving from SE into SW this summer.

The building is now using a different connectivity path for communication into the building.

Classrooms are being setup for temporary usage to prepare for the science east building to be renovated.
The connectivity for data and voice to be rerouted to SW. The SE connectivity to SW west will disabled during spring break in March.
The cabling quote has been approved and ordering of material will began.
